How Scheduling for Eucharistic Ministers and Lectors Work
Our scheduling process is designed to be fair, flexible, and responsive to each minister's availability.
Schedules are prepared one to two months at a time. Approximately two weeks before each new schedule period, ministers receive an email with a brief availability form. This for asks which Mass or Masses you prefer to serve, and which dates you are unavailable during the upcoming period. In this way ministers essentially set their own schedules.
The information that is returned is entered into our scheduling software, which rotates assignments based on both availability and parish needs, helping ensure an equitable distribution of service.
When the completed schedule is sent out, it includes a contact list of fellow ministers. If an unexpected conflict arises, ministers may use this list to arrange a substitute.
We are grateful for the time and commitment of all our Eucharistic Ministers and Lectors, whose cooperation helps this process run smoothly.
